راهبتان تختلسان نصف مليون دولار على مدى 20 عامًا للعب القمار

أقرت راهبتان أمريكيتان كانتا تعملان في مدرسة كاثوليكية قرب لوس أنجليس، أنّهما اختلستا الأموال من المؤسسة التربوية؛ لإنفاقها على ألعاب الميسر في لاس فيغاس.

وقالت أسقفية لوس أنجليس، إنّ اختلاس شيكات موجهة إلى المدرسة استمر أكثر من عشر سنوات، وقد يكون مجموع ما اختلستاه نصف مليون دولار.

وقال المحقق الذي أوردت كلامه الصحافة المحلية: “كنا نعرف أنهما اعتادتا السفر واللعب في الكازينو. لكن الجديد هو أنهما استخدمتا حساب المدرسة وليس حسابهما الشخصي”.

وقد تقاعدت الأخت ماري مارغريت موبر مديرة المدرسة، حيث عملت 20 عامًا، وصديقتها الأخت لانا تشانغ المعلمة في المدرسة، هذه السنة.

وأوضحت المدرسة في رسالة إلى الأهل، أنّ تدقيقًا في الحسابات أجري بعد تقاعدهما، أظهر وجود هذه التجاوزات.

وأكدت المدرسة في الرسالة، أنّه “لم يتأثر أي تلميذ أو برنامج بهذه المسألة تربية أطفالكم لم تتأثر ولن تتأثر بهذه الأحداث”.

وأبلغت الشرطة بالمسألة، في حين أكدت أسقفية لوس أنجليس نيتها الادعاء بالحق المدني.
