انهالت انتقادات واسعة على الناشطة السياسية الأمريكية كانداس أوينز؛ إثر استخدامها لرمز ضاحك في تغريدتها المتعلقة بمذبحة مسجد نيوزيلندا بعد أن جاء اسمها في بيان منفذ المجزرة.

وبالفعل ورد اسم الناشطة المحافظة أوينز في بث مباشر لسفاح مجزرة المسجد، الأسترالي برينتون تارانت ووصفها بأنها أكبر دافع له في بيانه المكون من 74 صفحة، بحسب ما نشره موقع “إرم نيوز”.

وقال تارانت إن أوينز ساعدت في ”دفعي أكثر فأكثر نحو الاعتقاد بالعنف بدلًا من السلمية“، إلا أنه ادعى أن ”بعض الإجراءات المتطرفة التي تدعو إليها تتعدى الحدود، حتى بالنسبة لي“.

وبعد فترة وجيزة من نشر البيان على تويتر، بث تارانت، 28 عامًا، فيديو مباشرًا من داخل مسجد النور في كرايستشيرش في حوالي الساعة 1:30 ظهرًا، وآخر في مسجد قريب، ووثق هجومه الدامي الذي أسفر عن مقتل 49 شخصًا وجرح 48 آخرين.

ونشرت تغريدات عديدة لأوينز عن إعجاب المتطرف اليميني بها، إلا أنها بدلًا من أن تنأى بنفسها عن عنف آرائه أو حتى تدين ما فعله، قامت بالتغريد ضاحكة ”LOL!“ وأتبعت العبارة التي تعني ”ضحكة كبرى“ برمز ضاحك.

وتابعت قائلة إنها لم تكن مسؤولة عن إلهام منفذ الهجوم، وأكدت أن من وصفتهم ”الليبراليين البيض العنصريين“ كانوا يحاولون إلقاء اللوم علي بسبب ذلك.

وقالت في تغريدتها: ”لم أقم مطلقًا بإنشاء أي محتوى يعرض آرائي بشأن الإسلام“، وتابعت: ”البعض يدعون بأنني ملهمة مجزرة المسجد في نيوزيلندا، لأنني أعتقد أن أمريكا السوداء تستطيع أن تفعل ذلك، فأيدي الحكومة تستطيع الوصول إلى أي شيء، ههههههه“.

وفي مساء الخميس ويوم الجمعة، واصلت أوينز تغريداتها على مدار عدة ساعات رافضة أن يتم إلقاء اللوم عليها في هذه المذبحة.

وعندما أشار المتابعون إلى عدم ملاءمة ردها، أصبحت أوينز غاضبة وتجادلت معهم لكنها فشلت في إبداء ملاحظة واحدة، أو أي بادرة تعاطف حول إطلاق النار أو سقوط العشرات من الضحايا.

ولطالما اشتهرت أوينز بتصريحاتها المثيرة للجدل حول الإسلام، بالإضافة إلى رأيها بأن الحزب الديمقراطي عنصري، وتظهر في صور مع الرئيس الأمريكي الجمهوري دونالد ترامب وأحد أبنائه.

وتعتقد أوينز أن الحزب الديمقراطي عنصري، وشكلت تحالفًا مع المغني الأمريكي كاني ويست، زوج ممثلة تلفزيون الواقع الشهيرة كيم كاردشيان في دعم دونالد ترامب.

ووصفت سابقًا المتظاهرين في ”Black Lives Matters“ بأنهم ”حفنة من الأطفال الصغار الأثرياء“.

كما تعرضت للنقد في الماضي لإبداء ملاحظات مثيرة للجدل بخصوص هتلر، ويشير أرشيف حسابها على موقع تويتر إلى هجوم حادّ على عمدة لندن المسلم صادق خان، حيث زعمت أن ”أوروبا ستسقط وتصبح قارة ذات أغلبية مسلمة بحلول العام 2050“.

واستهدفت بأخرى الرئيس الفرنسي ”إيمانويل ماكرون“، وحذرت فرنسا من انخفاض معدل المواليد.

واستيقظ العالم، صباح اليوم الجمعة، على هجومين داميين أحدهما على مسجد النور في كرايستشيرش في الجزيرة الجنوبية بالبلاد في حوالي الساعة الواحدة والنصف مساءً، بينما كانت تقام صلاة الجمعة، والثاني في نفس الوقت تقريبًا، على مسجد ثانٍ في لينوود، على بعد حوالي 10 كم من الهجوم الأول.

وأشارت التقارير الأولية إلى وجود إطلاق نار في مستشفى كرايستشيرش، ومع ذلك، قالت رئيسة الوزراء النيوزيلندية ”جاسيندا أرديرن“ إن المساجد هي الأماكن الوحيدة المستهدفة.

وأكدت أنه تم تثبيت قنابل على سيارتين تابعتين للمشتبه بهم بالقرب من المسجد، إلا أنه تم تفكيك المتفجرات قبل انفجارها.
