فكرة تصدير الثورة الإيرانية والشروع بتنفيذها أقلقت دول المنطقة حكومات وشعوبا، ولا سيما بعدما أخذت إيران بإرسال رجال دين شيعة إلى دول الخليج لبث الخطاب الإيراني أملا بكسب الشارع الخليجي، معتمدة على الترحيب الشعبي الخليجي بقيام الثورة وسقوط الشاه، وحدثت في دول المنطقة قلاقل وتفلتات أمنية بسبب التدخل الإيراني المباشر بشؤونها.

وعرفت المنطقة وللمرة الأولى، التفرقة المذهبية وعلا صوت المذهب على كل الأصوات وصار سيد الأصوات، والقصد بالمذهب ليس مقتصرا على المذهب الشيعي، بل بالمقابل علا الصوت السني أيضا، وهكذا دخلنا في غائلة المذهبية والتي ولدت انشقاقات مازالت مع الأسف قائمة.

ولقد رفضت شعوب الدول الخليجية المسلك الإيراني وباتت في خشية من إيران الجديدة أكثر من خشيتها من إيران الشاه، لأن إيران الجديدة تتكلم بلسان المذهب وتحاول استقطاب الموالين والمؤازرين مستعينة بالأدوات والموازين الدينية، وهذا ما تتفوق به إيران الخميني على إيران الشاه.

فضلا عن هذا فإن إيران الخميني لم تقم بالتخلي عن الجزر الإماراتية المحتلة ولم تعد تسليمها إلى دولة الإمارات، وهو الأمر الذي كانت تتوقعه شعوب دول الخليج، فزاد هذا الأمر في التباعد بين ايران وشعوب الخليج.

ونتيجة لهذا الغليان السياسي المتصاعد قامت في سبتمبر عام 1980 الحرب العراقية الإيرانية لتزيد التأجيج المذهبي رغم أنها من جانب العراق لم تكن حربا مذهبية كما هي في الجانب الإيراني، فمعظم الذين خاضوا الحرب ضد إيران من الجانب العراقي هم من الشيعة وكان ولاؤهم للوطن.

استمرت الحرب العراقية الإيرانية ثمانية أعوام عجاف زاد الدم المراق في ميادينها من أسنها وأساها، وأثرت سلبا على جميع دول المنطقة.

كنا حينها نقف مع العراق من منطلق عقلي لا من منطلق عاطفي، فنحن لم ننظر إلى تلك الحرب المجنونة من منظور مذهبي، كما لم ننظر إليها من منظور عرقي ولم نعتبرها حربا عربية فارسية، كما أراد العراق حينها أن يوحي للناس، بل نظرنا إليها على أنها حرب من جانب العراق على من أراد أن يعكر صفونا ويتدخل في شؤوننا ويقلقل أوضاعنا الآمنة.

لذلك كنا مع العراق لرد المعتدي وكف أذاه.
