يتوجّب على “غوغل” التي اتهمت منصة “يوتيوب” التابعة لها بانتهاك القانون من خلال تعرض الأطفال لتسجيلات غير لائقة أو جمع بيانات شخصية عنهم، دفع بين 150 و200 مليون دولار في إطار اتفاق مع السلطات الأميركية، بحسب معلومات صحافية.
ومن المرتقب أن تعمّم اللجنة الفدرالية للتجارة (إف تي سي) في الولايات المتحدة هذا القرار في أيلول/سبتمبر، بحسب ما أفادت صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز”. وفي حال حظي هذا الاتفاق بموافقة وزارة العدل، فهو سيصبح أهمّ الاتفاقات بشأن حماية الحياة الخاصة للأطفال، بحسب الصحيفة.
في نيسان/أبريل 2018، قدّمت 23 منظمة تُعنى بالدفاع عن الحقوق الرقمية وحماية الأطفال شكوى ضدّ “غوغل” إلى اللجنة الفدرالية للتجارة اتهمت فيها “يوتيوب” بجمع معلومات خاصة عن قاصرين (من قبيل موقعهم الجغرافي والأجهزة المستخدمة وأرقام هواتفهم)، دون علم الأهل واستخدام هذه البيانات للترويج لإعلانات مكيّفة بحسب الحاجات.
ولفتت هذه الجمعيات إلى أن ممارسات كهذه تنتهك القانون المعروف بـ”كوبا” والذي يحظر منذ العام 1998 جمع بيانات متعلّقة بالأطفال دون الثالثة عشرة من العمر واستخدامها لأغراض تجارية، من دون الموافقة الصريحة للأهل.
وقد أطلقت “يوتيوب” التي تضمّ مليار مستخدم شهري وتلقى رواجا كبيرا في أوساط المراهقين والشباب، خدمة “يوتيوب كيدز” المخصصة للأطفال دون الثالثة عشرة سنة 2015.
غير أن موقعها الأساسي لا يزال يزخر بقصص للأطفال ورسوم متحركة وأيضا إعلانات لألعاب.
وتشكّل إدارة تسجيلات الأطفال أو تلك الموجّهة لهم مسألة شائكة بالنسبة إلى “يوتيوب” التي تُنتقد أيضا على عدم بذلها ما يكفي من الجهود لحماية موقعها من المتحرشين بالأطفال. وقد اتخذت “يوتيوب” تدابير صارمة في الفترة الأخيرة، كمنع التعليق على أغلبية التسجيلات التي يظهر فيها قاصرون.
