كشفت مصادر استخبارية عن أنّ الزعيم الجديد لتنظيم داعش “أبو ابراهيم الهاشمي القرشي” هو في الواقع أحد مؤسّسي التنظيم ومن كبار منظّريه العقائديين واسمه الحقيقي هو أمير محمّد عبد الرحمن المولى الصلبي، بحسب ما أفادت صحيفة الغارديان البريطانية.

لكنّ صحيفة الغارديان نقلت عن مسؤولين في جهازين استخباريين لم تسمّهم، أنّ “الزعيم الجديد لتنظيم داعش هو المولى وقد كان قيادياً رفيعاً في التنظيم و”أحد منظّريه العقائديين”.
وبحسب الصحيفة فإن “المولى يتحدّر من الأقليّة التركمانية في العراق، ما يجعله واحداً من القادة غير العرب القلائل في التنظيم”.
وبحسب موقع “المكافآت من أجل العدالة” التابع للحكومة الأميركية فإنّ المولى، الذي “يعرف أيضاً بإسم حجي عبد الله” كان “باحثاً دينياً في المنظمة السابقة لداعش وهي منظمة القاعدة في العراق، وارتفع بثبات في الصفوف ليتولى دور قيادي كبير في داعش”.
وأضاف الموقع، أنّه بصفته “واحداً من أكبر الأيدولوجيين في داعش، ساعد حجي عبد الله على قيادة وتبرير اختطاف وذبح وتهريب الأقلية الدينية اليزيدية في شمال غرب العراق، ويعتقد أنه يشرف على بعض العمليات الإرهابية العالمية للجماعة”.
