أعلن الرئيس دونالد ترامب، عن البدء في استخدام دواء لعلاج فيروس كورونا اعتبارا من يوم غد في نيويورك وبعض المناطق الأمريكية.

ونشر ترامب، على حسابه بموقع “تويتر”، خبر إنقاذ حياة مصاب بفيروس كورونا باستخدام دواء “هيدروكسي كلوروكين” الخاص بعلاج الملاريا.

وعلق ترامب عليه قائلا: “نتيجة مبكرة رائعة لدواء سيبدأ استخدامه غدًا في نيويورك وأماكن أخرى.. كوفيد -19”.

وكان رجل مصاب بفيروس كورونا المستجد في ولاية فلوريدا الأمريكية، أكد أن الدواء المستخدم لعلاج الملاريا والذي أعلن الرئيس دونالد ترامب، أنه يمكنه علاج كورونا، قد أنقذ حياته من الموت.

ووفقًا لصحيفة “نيويورك بوست” الأمريكية، قال ريو جياردينيري، البالغ من العمر 52 عامًا، إنه عانى من آلام رهيبة في الرأس، وصداع، وسعال، وإرهاق لمدة خمسة أيام، لافتا إلى أن الأطباء في مستشفى جو ديماجيو في جنوب فلوريدا شخصوا حالته بأنه مصاب بفيروس كورونا والتهاب رئوي ووضعوه على جهاز التنفس في وحدة العناية المركزة.

وأوضح أنه بعد أكثر من أسبوع، أخبره الأطباء بأنه لا يوجد شيء آخر يمكنهم القيام به، ما جعله يحزن ويقوم بوداع زوجته وأطفاله الثلاثة.

وأشار: “كنت في المرحلة التي كنت بالكاد أستطيع التحدث فيها وكان التنفس صعبًا للغاية”، مضيفا: “اعتقدت حقا أن نهايتي اقتربت”.

وأوضح أن أحد الأصدقاء أرسلوا له مقال حول هيدروكسي كلوروكين، الدواء المستخدم لعلاج الملاريا وأمراض المناعة الذاتية مثل الذئبة، حيث كانت الرداسات تتحدث عن أنه له نتائج واعدة لعلاج فيروس كورونا “كوفيد 19″، على الرغم من عدم الموافقة عليها من قبل هيئة الدواء والغذاء.

وأكد “شعرب بالأمل.. وتحدثت مع طبيبي بشأن الدواء، لكنه أعطاني عددًا من الأسباب التي تجعلني لا أرغب في تجربته خاصة مع عدم اختباره سريريا أو نجاحه”.

وأشار: “بعد إحساسي بفقدان التنفس.. وافق الطبيب بإعطائي الدواء وأذن باستخدامه وبعد 30 دقيقة أعطته لي الممرضة”.

وأكد جياردينيري أنه بعد حوالي ساعة من تناول الدواء، شعر أن قلبه ينبض من جديد، وبعد ساعتين تقريبًا، بدأ يتنفس، ومنذ ذلك الوقت وأصبح لا يعاني من الحمى أو الألم وعاد التنفس مرة أخرى.

لكن ذكر جياردينيري أن الأطباء يعتقدون أن النتائج التي مر بها لم تكن ردة فعل على الدواء ولكن جسده كان يحارب الفيروس.

وأشار إلى أنه سيتناول ثلاث جرعات من الدواء يوم السبت المقبل، ويأمل أن يخرج من المستشفى في غضون خمسة أيام، مؤكدا أن هذا الدواء أنقذ حياته.
