وأضافت الصحيفة أنّ الخبراء يرجّحون أن يكون “بحر الصين” هو المنطقة التي من الممكن أن تبدأ فيها الحرب بين أميركا من جهة وروسيا والصين من جهة أخرى، وأنّ الدول المجاورة مثل ماليزيا والفلبين وفيتنام وتايوان وبروناي كلها ستصبح في مرمى النيران وتتورط بطريقة غير مباشرة في الصراع.
وكان وزير الدفاع الصيني، وي فنغ، قد أعلن أن بلاده “ستقاتل بأي ثمن” إذا اندلعت الحرب مع الولايات المتحدة.
