توفي الأديب والشاعر والدبلوماسي اللبناني صلاح ستيتية الذي جهد من خلال أعماله على التوفيق بين الرؤيتين الشرقية والعربية للعالم، على ما ذكرت سفارة لبنان في فرنسا.
وقالت السفارة عبر شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي “انطفأت منارة أدبية ودبلوماسية في باريس ليل 20 مايو/أيار 2020” مشيدة “بشاعر وكاتب هائل ترك نتاجا ضخما من 250 عملا ومخطوطة ورسما ولوحة وصورا ومنحوتة معروضة في متحف بول فاليري في سيت” في فرنسا.
وكان الأديب مقيما في فرنسا وتحمل قاعة في متحف الشاعر الفرنسي بول فاليري اسمه منذ 2017. وكان يحلو له القول “نحن شاعران من المتوسط إحدى أهم المناطق في رهانات الحرب والسلم في العالم”.
ولد ستيتية في عائلة برجوازية سنية في 28 ديسمبر/كانون الأول 1929 في بيروت خلال مرحلة الانتداب الفرسي على لبنان واختار أن يكتب بالفرنسية فيما كان والده شاعرا باللغة العربية.

وبقي على ارتباط بلبنان الذي كان الملهم الرئيسي لأشعاره. وهو صاحب محاولات أدبية وترجمات لشعراء عرب ونصوص حول الفن.
وشكل عمله “حملة النار” (1972) دراسة معمقة في الجذور الروحية للعالم العربي فضلا عن مستقبله المحتمل.
ونال الجائزة الكبرى للفرنكوفونية التي تمنحها الأكاديمية الفرنسية العام 1995 عن مجمل نتاجه الأدبي.
وكان على علاقة بعدد كبير من أدباء القرن العشرين من بينهم جان-بيار جوف وهنري ميشو ورينيه شار وإيف بونفوا.
وكانت له مسيرة في السلك الدبلوماسي فكان سفيرا للبنان في هولندا والمغرب خصوصا، ومندوبا لبلاده في منظمة الأمم المتحدة للتربية والثقافة والعلوم (يونسكو) ومديرا للشؤون السياسية وأمينا عاما لوزارة الخارجية اللبانية.
وقالت أودري أزولاي المديرة العامة لليونسكو في تغريدة “نفقد صديقا عزيزا عمل من أجل السلام والحوار بين الثقافات انطلاقا من ثقافته العربية”.
وأشاد جاك لانغ مدير المعهد العربي في باريس بستيتيه معتبرا أنه “شغوف بالعالم ورسول سلام وشعر وثقافة فعلي وسفير الكلمة الذي كان يفتح آفاقا فنية ودبلوماسية جديدة”.
