Continuity of Arab and international media support for the Palestinian cause

 The media is the fourth authority and the voice of the voiceless and the mirror of the homeland and the citizen, and it is one of the factors of victory or defeat, construction and demolition, progress and delay. The media is an active element and a component of awareness, opinion and understanding and a deterrent to persistence in committing crimes. Media is an essential component of politics, thought and culture.  The media is merely a vector of the image, which means that it does not play the role of raising awareness.

 The Israeli occupation is fighting our Palestinian people by all means, politically, militarily, and economically, and it harnesses all its media capabilities in which it depends on fluency in the language and research in the cultures of peoples to make it easier for it to address them and thus influence and persuade global public opinion, fighting the Palestinian narrative and those who support it in the Arab media by relying on the method of deception and the first initiative.  In narrating the media narrative, denying the narration of the historical facts of the Palestinian cause to gain international sympathy. On the other hand, the Palestinian and Arab media are always in the reaction circle, and this is an ineffective method in confronting the Israeli media and persuading the world public opinion. Does our media have the ability and experience in confronting the Israeli media?  Can he take the initiative and stop the Israeli media’s penetration in the international media?

 Today, Palestine lives in a unique state of siege and division imposed by the presence of the Israeli occupation. Therefore, we must diversify the form of the media message, as we address diverse minds, each according to its culture, race, nationality and language, while maintaining and adhering to the same content of this message until it reaches the positive form we want.  Undoubtedly, there are some shortcomings in the Palestinian and Arab media’s handling of the entitlements of the Palestinian cause and the public gift. This is because the Palestinian media has become each of them bears a political orientation according to this party or that, and the division, which created a state of confusion among the media to deal with the events.  This is a major reason for the weak influence on the Palestinian, Arab and international community, and one of the reasons for distrust of the Palestinian media narrative.

 Before the so-called Arab Spring, during the Al-Aqsa Intifada and before it the Intifada of stones, it attached importance to our Palestinian cause in terms of covering events, presenting reports and press interviews, as well as producing films and documentaries that simulate the struggle of our Palestinian people and highlight the crimes of the Israeli occupation, which created cases of interaction and solidarity with our people.  The Palestinian demonstrations and protests roamed the Arab capitals despite being prevented and confronted by the Arab security forces, and this is what we are witnessing recently in support of the Palestinian cause, but it should be noted that such a global movement continues in support and rejection of what is happening in Palestine, and not only for a period and it ends.  But the observer of some Arab media, audio and visual today, clearly notices the absence of the Palestinian cause and its news and the suffering of our Palestinian people as a core issue and the core of the Arab-Israeli conflict, where the advertising space whose news occupies the space of a commercial advertisement, the Arab media no longer deals with the Palestinian issue with enthusiasm and does not  So handle it professionally.  Since the beginning of the Israeli occupation of our Palestinian land, our Palestinian people have been subjected to the most heinous forms of crime and organized terrorism at the hands of the occupying forces, plundering lands, Judaizing Jerusalem, killing children, women and the elderly, holding prisons full of prisoners whose only fault is that they defended the dignity of their people.

 Shouldn’t the Arab media portray the Arab citizen in a picture of the suffering of the Palestinian people in Jerusalem, Hebron, Gaza, Galilee and other Palestinian cities?  Is it not his responsibility before world public opinion to expose the racist Israeli violations?  Does not what the Palestinian people are exposed to deserve to be given great importance in the Arab media. Is there an issue more important than the issue of our Palestinian people?  The crimes committed by the Israeli occupation against our Palestinian people deserve to remain at the top of the priorities in the Arab and international media.  Because the Palestinian people are an integral part of the Arab whole, but unfortunately the Arab media deals with our news as a temporary event only and not vice versa. There is no doubt that the events taking place in the Arab world resulted from the so-called Arab Spring, which cast a shadow and the Palestinian issue was absent in the Arab media, and this is due to the Arabs’ preoccupation  These events are a major factor in marginalizing the Palestinian cause in the media.  How long will the Arab media continue to treat our Palestinian cause as partial and reduce it according to the concept of conflict and not a struggle over rights and constants?  Will we see a change in the wording of the Arab news on the Palestinian issue?  Will the Arab media discourse on Israeli terrorism and its view of our Palestinian cause be renewed and be able to gather the scattered pieces of the issue and gather them into one comprehensive issue to become the focus of the Arab and global nation’s attention?  The Palestinian cause today has turned into a secondary issue in the Arab media. The Arab media no longer agrees or agrees on one narrative for the cause or Jerusalem, which concerns every Arab.

 As for the Western media, it deals with the Palestinian issue as if it were a conflict between two parties (Palestinian and Israeli), and its media materials are completely devoid of the historical context of the Palestinian issue, and even deal with coverage of Israeli attacks and their wars on an equal basis and deliberately list the details of the Israeli dead. As for our martyrs, they are numbers in their media without the slightest details, and this  It is due to the extent of the penetration of the Israeli media within the Western media and its great influence in the liberation of its policies and is linked to the quality of the strategic relations that link the occupying state with these countries. The Israeli media is always the race in the media story in all its details, and this is what distinguishes it from the Palestinian and Arab media, which builds its media materials on  reaction.  In the era of technological development, the multiplicity of means of communication and the spread of social networking sites, the field has opened up for freedom of opinion and expression. Western writers, intellectuals and activists began to publish their articles and what they see with their own eyes in the Palestinian territories of the crimes of the Israeli occupation, and some Palestinian communities played a role in this.
