أكثر من 9 آلاف إصابة بكورونا بسبب مباريات “يورو 2020”

ربطت أكثر من 9 آلاف إصابة بفيروس كورونا بمباريات بطولة كأس أمم أوروبا لكرة القدم (يورو 2020)، وذلك بحسب دراسة لإدارة الثقافة والصحة العامة في إنكلترا، التي اعتبرت أن الأحداث الرياضية التي حصلت شكلت خطرا كبيرا على السلامة العامة.
وأظهرت النتائج أن أكثر من 85 بالمائة من جميع الإصابات مرتبطة بـ 49 يوما من الأحداث الرياضية التي نظمت في مباريات اليورو، وتحديدا في نصف النهائي، والمباراة النهائية، التي جرت يوم 11 يوليو، على ملعب “ويمبلي” بلندن، وفقا لما نشرته صحيفة “الغارديان“.
ورصد 9402 اختبارا إيجابيا بمرض كوفيد-19 لمشجعين في اليورو، حيث أبلغ 3036 شخصا عن الأعراض في غضون يومين من المباراة، مما يشير إلى أنهم كانوا على الأرجح معديين في وقت المباراة.
وقالت نائبة المدير الطبي للصحة العامة في إنكلترا، الدكتورة جينيفر سميث، التي قادت الدراسة، إنه “من المهم تعلم الدروس من حجم العدوى التي تسبب بها اليورو”.
وأضافت سميث “تظهر البيانات مدى سهولة انتشار الفيروس عندما يكون هناك اتصال وثيق، ويجب أن يكون هذا تحذير لنا جميعا، في وقت نحاول فيه العودة إلى الوضع الطبيعي”.
وأشارت الدراسة إلى أن “الخطر ليس فقط من الأفراد الذين حضروا الحدث نفسه، ولكن شمل الأنشطة التي تم القيام بها أثناء السفر والأنشطة الاجتماعية المرتبطة بالحدث”.
في المقابل، استوعبت بطولة ويمبلدون لكرة المضرب، ما يصل إلى 100 في المائة من الجمهور، ولكن من حوالى 300 ألف نتج 881 حالة إصابة بكوفيد – 19، وهو ما أشارت إليه الدراسة موضحة أن “سلوك الجماهير كان مختلفا في اليورو عن ويمبلدون”.
وأوضحت الدراسة أن المتفرجين في اليورو كانوا أقل امتثالا للقواعد والتدابير الوقائية، لاسيما لناحية وضع الأقنعة.
وتقرر السماح بحضور 60 ألف شخص على الأقل، أكثر من 75 بالمائة من سعة ملعب ويمبلي، لمباريات نصف النهائي ونهائي يورو 2020.
وكان الاتحاد الأوروبي لكرة القدم (يويفا)، قد قرر في مارس 2020، تأجيل بطولة كأس أمم أوروبا إلى العام 2021، بسبب انتشار جائحة فيروس كورونا.
