أيقن نتنياهو بعد أن درس وعمل في أميركا أن لا مجال له للوصول إلى «السلطة» بامكانياته الذاتية داخل المعادلة الإسرائيلية التي يسيطر عليها حزب العمل أو حزب الليكود، فاختار وبذكاء الاستقواء على تلك المعادلة بالتواصل وكرجل علاقات عامة مع «الايباك» أولاً، وثانياً التواصل مع مؤسسات صنع القرار والشخصيات المهمة فيها مستغلاً ثقافته الأميركية في إبهار كل من تعامل معه، وتحول نتنياهو إلى ما يمكن أن أطلق عليه نموذج «الإسرائيلي–الأميركي» الذي لم يسبق أن وجد نموذجاً على غراره وهو الذي جمع وبدهاء وعبر خطاب إعلامي ورؤية سياسية ما بين المصالح الأميركية الاستراتيجية والمصالح الإسرائيلية.
نتنياهو الخبير بالشان الأميركي استثمر معرفته بشيلدون ادلسون، في مطلع التسعينيات من القرن الماضي، عندما كان نتنياهو نائباً بالكنيست عن الليكود، وعمل منذ ذلك الوقت على تكريس علاقة ادلسون بإسرائيل وعمل جهده لتكريمه وتقديره وأقام حفل زفاف ادلسون على زوجته الثانية مريم في «البرلمان الاسرائيلي» كتكريم غير مسبوق له، منذ ذلك التاريخ واقصد عام 1991 تعززت علاقة التحالف «المرعب» بين عالم القمار، والصهيونية الجديدة وعنوانها نتنياهو.
