إرتفاع حالات الإصابة بالحصبة في لعالم أربعة أمثال ما كان عليه العام الماضي

قالت منظمة الصحة العالمية إن عدد حالات الحصبة في جميع أنحاء العالم ارتفع في الربع الأول من 2019 نحو أربعة أمثال ما كان عليه خلال الفترة ذاتها من العام الماضي.

وقالت المنظمة التابعة للأمم المتحدة في بيان إنه تم تسجيل ارتفاع معدلات الإصابة بالمرض في كل المناطق. وناشدت المنظمة زيادة نطاق التطعيم.

وأضافت المنظمة في تقريرها “خلال الشهور الأخيرة، كانت هناك زيادة في حالات الإصابة في دول تشهد عمليات تطعيم على نطاق واسع ومن بينها الولايات المتحدة، وإسرائيل، وتايلاند، وتونس، فيما انتشر المرض بسرعة بين تجمعات من الأشخاص الذين لم يتم تطعيمهم”.

وتظهر البيانات الأولية ارتفاع الإصابات بالحصبة بنسبة 300 بالمئة في الثلاث شهور الأولى من عام 2019، مقارنة بنفس الفترة في عام 2018.

ومرض الحصبة شديد العدوى ويمكن أن يودي بحياة طفل أو يصيبه بالعمى أو الصمم أو بتلف في المخ ولكن في نفس الوقت يمكن الوقاية منه.

وتنتقل عدوى الحصبة بواسطة الرذاذ المتطاير من أنف الأشخاص المصابين أو فمهم أو حلقهم.

وتشمل الأعراض الأولية، التي عادة ما تظهر بعد فترة تتراوح من 10إلى 12 يوم من العدوى، حمى شديدة، وسيلان الأنف، وعيون محتقنة بالدم، وظهور بقع بيضاء صغيرة داخل الفم.

ويصاب المريض، بعد مرور عدة أيام، بطفح يظهر أولا على الوجه وأعلى العنق وينتشر تدريجيا إلى أسفل الجسم.

ورغم انخفاض الوفيات العالمية الناجمة عن الحصبة بنسبة 75٪ على مستوى العالم في السنوات الأخيرة، من 544,000 حالة وفاة في عام 2000 إلى 146,000 حالة وفاة في عام 2013، إلا أن الحصبة لا تزال شائعة في العديد من البلدان النامية، وعلى وجه الخصوص في أجزاء من قارة أفريقيا وآسيا.

ويصاب أكثر من 20 مليون شخص بمرض الحصبة كل عام. وتحدث الغالبية العظمى (أكثر من 95 بالمئة) من وفيات الحصبة في الدول ذات الدخل المنخفض للفرد والبنى التحتية الصحية الضعيفة.
