الانتخابات الفلسطينية… قرار الصمود في وجه الاحتلال ومحاولات كسر الإرادة الوطنية

إن من يراهن على أن الحرب والدمار والتهجير قادرة على إطفاء شعلة الشعب الفلسطيني واهم. فالفلسطيني الذي صمد في وجه الاحتلال لعقود لن يتخلى عن حقه في اختيار قيادته وصياغة مستقبله. والانتخابات اليوم ليست مجرد استحقاق دستوري، بل هي رسالة مقاومة سياسية وحضارية تقول للعالم أجمع إن فلسطين ليست ساحة مستباحة، وإن شعبها قادر على إدارة شؤونه رغم كل القيود.

وبرغم أنف الاحتلال، الذي حاول عبر عقود طويلة ضرب مقومات الحياة الفلسطينية وتكريس التبعية والضعف، يثبت الفلسطينيون مرة أخرى أنهم أصحاب الأرض والقرار. فكل محاولة لإلغاء وجودهم أو تجاوز إرادتهم ستتحطم أمام تمسكهم بحقوقهم الوطنية وبناء مؤسساتهم.

إن قرار الرئيس بإجراء الانتخابات يمثل خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح، وفرصة لإعادة ترتيب البيت الفلسطيني على قاعدة الوحدة والشراكة وتحمل المسؤولية التاريخية. فالمرحلة القادمة تحتاج إلى توحيد الصفوف، وتجديد الثقة بين الشعب ومؤسساته، وتعزيز القدرة على مواجهة التحديات الكبرى التي تواجه القضية الفلسطينية.

اليوم، لا تُرفع راية الانتخابات باعتبارها إجراءً عادياً، بل باعتبارها إعلاناً بأن الشعب الفلسطيني لن يُهزم، وأن الاحتلال مهما امتلك من قوة لا يستطيع مصادرة إرادة شعب قرر أن يبقى. فلسطين التي واجهت العواصف ستواصل طريقها، وصوت شعبها سيبقى أعلى من كل محاولات الإقصاء والتهميش.

إنها لحظة تثبيت للوجود، وتجديد للعهد، ورسالة مدوية: فلسطين باقية، وشعبها هو صاحب الكلمة الأخيرة.

Palestinian Elections… A Decision of Resilience in the Face of Occupation and Attempts to Break the National Will

At a time when the Palestinian people are facing some of the fiercest campaigns against them, and as the occupying power seeks to impose a reality of force and reshape the future of Palestine away from the will of its people, President Mahmoud Abbas’s decision to hold legislative and presidential elections sends a clear and undeniable message: the Palestinian people are alive, their national institutions remain standing, and their right to determine their own future will not be held hostage by occupation or by the calculations of those who seek to weaken them.

The President’s decision to call for elections under these extremely difficult circumstances is a courageous and responsible step. It demonstrates that the Palestinian leadership rejects the logic of political vacuum and will not allow the Palestinian arena to become vulnerable to projects that target national identity and the people’s right to representation. President Mahmoud Abbas has recognized that the strength of the Palestinian cause is preserved not only through steadfastness on the ground, but also through protecting the national political system and expanding popular participation. Every attempt to erase their presence or bypass their will will ultimately fail in the face of their determination to defend their national rights and build their institutions.

President Abbas’s decision to hold elections represents a step in the right direction and an opportunity to reorganize the Palestinian national house on the basis of unity, partnership, and shared responsibility. The coming phase requires the unification of efforts, the renewal of trust between the people and their institutions, and the strengthening of the ability to confront the major challenges facing the Palestinian cause.

Today, elections are not being raised as a routine procedure, but as a declaration that the Palestinian people cannot be defeated and that no matter how much power the occupation possesses, it cannot confiscate the will of a people determined to remain steadfast. Palestine, which has faced countless storms, will continue its path, and the voice of its people will remain stronger than all attempts at exclusion and marginalization.
