ترامب يشكك في قدرة بايدن على اجتياز اختبار للقدرات العقلية
والتغريدة التي كان قد نشرها ستيف غيست، مدير الاستجابة السريعة في اللجنة الوطنية الجمهورية تشير إلى تصريحات للمرشح الرسمي للحزب الديمقراطي الأربعاء الماضي والتي قال فيها إنه أجريت له العديد من الاختبارات التي تقيس قدراته الإدراكية.
وكتب القيادي الجمهوري أن حملة بايدن لم تنشر نتائج مثل هذه الاختبارات لو كانت قد أجريت له من الأساس.
وكان بايدن الذي ضمن أصوات غالبية المندوبين في مؤتمر الحزب الديمقراطي قد سأله صحفي في نهاية منتدى الأربعاء عما إذا كان أجرى اختبارا لقياس “التدهور الإدراكي”، فأجاب: “لقد تم اختباري. لقد تم اختباري باستمرار”. واستطرد بايدن قائلا إنه يريد مقارنة نتائج اختباراته بمنافسه، المرشح الجمهوري دونالد ترامب.
ومن جانبه، شكك ترامب في تغريدته في قدرة بايدن على اجتياز هذا الاختبار الذي نجح هو (ترامب) فيه.
ومسألة القدرات العقلية لبايدن (77 عاما) من المسائل المثارة منذ فترة طويلة، بعد أن ارتكب عدة هفوات على مدار الشهور الماضية، ما دعا ترامب إلى أنه يصفه بأنه “جو النعسان”.
ورغم ذلك فاز بايدن على نحو 20 متنافسا ديمقراطيا، ليصبح المرشح الوحيد الذي سيواجه ترامب في نوفمبر المقبل.
ومن إحدى هفواته تحدثه عن وفاة 120 مليون شخص بفيروس كورنا المستجد في الولايات المتحدة رغم أن العدد الحقيقي كان حوالي 120 ألفا.
وقال من قبل إن 150 مليون أميركي قتلوا في العنف المسلح منذ عام 2007.
وتداول أنصار ترامب مقطع فيديو وهو يتحدث عن الرئيس السابق باراك أوباما، غافلا اسمه مناديا إياه بـ”رب العمل السابق”.
وواجه بايدن انتقادات أخرى عندما قال إن الأميركيين من أصول أفريقية “ليسوا سودا”، ثم اعتذر لاحقا عن تلك التصريحات، مع العلم أنه لا يريد أن يخسر هذه القاعدة الانتخابية المهمة.
وواجه اتهامات أخرى تتعلق بالتصاقه بالنساء، والتحرش الجنسي، وقد وصف نفسه بأنه سياسي يميل للاتصال بالآخرين من خلال اللمس.
