وقال سميع الله خان، المدير العام لشركة IBV الإماراتية التي ستشتري المياه من الشركة، إن محطة التعبئة تعمل بالطاقة الشمسية، والزجاجات التي ستستخدم قابلة لإعادة التدوير، والأغطية مستدامة وستصنع من الخيزران.
وبحسب بلومبيرغ، لن تتنافس هذه التقنية معالجات المياه السائبة في أي وقت قريب، وستكون الشركة في البداية قادرًة فقط على إنتاج ما يصل إلى 2.3 مليون لتر سنويًا، لأنها لا تزال أكثر تكلفة بكثير من تحلية مياه البحر.
وأكد خان أن “مياه ماس وتر ستكون في نفس فئة العلامات التجارية المستوردة الراقية مثل Evian و Fiji، والتي تباع محليا في السوق الإماراتية مقابل حوالي 10 دراهم (2.72 دولار) للتر، ويتم إنشاء المصنع في منطقة لهباب على بعد 20 كيلو متر من دبي، وهي مركز لتربية الإبل ورحلات السفاري الصحراوية”.
طريقة العمل
سيبدأ المصنع بـ 1250 طائرة مائية، كل منها يكلف 2500 دولار، حتى تصل في النهاية إلى 10 ألف طائرة، وستقوم هذه الطائرات، المزودة بصناديق مستطيلة بيبلغ قياسها 2.4 متر × 1.2 متر، بامتصاص بخار الماء باستخدام الطاقة الشمسية.
وأوضح كودي فريزن، مؤسس ماس وتر أنه على الرغم من أنها يمكن أن تعمل هذه التقنية في أي مكان تشرق فيه الشمس تقريبًا، إلا أن مناخ دبي الحار والرطب يجعلها موقعًا مميزا،
