إضراب موظفو جوجل احتجاجا على التحرش في مكان العمل وعدم المساواة

نظم مئات من الموظفين والمتعاقدين في شركة جوجل بآسيا اضرابا عن العمل لفترة وجيزة يوم الخميس ومن المتوقع أن يحذو آلاف حذوهم في مكاتب بجميع أنحاء العالم في ظل شكاوى من التمييز على أساس الجنس والعرق وغياب الرقابة على السلطة التنفيذية في أماكن العمل.

وفي بيان في وقت متأخر من يوم الأربعاء دعا منظمون شركة ألفابت المالكة لجوجل لإضافة ممثل عن الموظفين لمجلس مدرائها ونشر بيانات عن المساواة في الأجور. كما طلبوا تغيير ممارسات قسم الموارد البشرية في جوجل بهدف تحويل الإبلاغ عن وقائع التحرش إلى عملية أكثر إنصافا.

وقال الرئيس التنفيذي لجوجل سوندار بيتشاي في بيان إن ”الموظفين طرحوا أفكارا بناءة“ وإن الشركة ”تستمع لكل ملاحظاتهم حتى يتسنى لنا تحويل هذه الأفكار إلى أفعال“.

ولم يؤثر الاستياء بين موظفي شركة ألفابت وعددهم 94 ألفا وعشرات الآلاف من المتعاقدين على أسهم الشركة بشكل ملحوظ.

وتأتي الاحتجاجات بعد تقرير نشرته صحيفة نيويورك تايمز الأسبوع الماضي وجاء فيه أن جوجل قدمت 90 مليون دولار لأندي روبين الذي كان نائب رئيس الشركة في 2014 مقابل الاستغناء عنه بعد اتهامه بالتحرش الجنسي.

ونفى روبين المزاعم التي وردت في التقرير وقال إنه تضمن مبالغات بشأن التعويض الذي حصل عليه. ولم تشكك جوجل في صحة التقرير.
