حذّرت رئيسة وزراء بريطانيا تيريزا ماي اليوم (الأحد)، من أن الإطاحة بها تهدد بتعطيل خروج بلادها من الاتحاد الأوروبي، مؤكدة أنها لن تدع الحديث عن تغيير الزعامة يشتت انتباهها بعيداً عن «مفاوضات حاسمة تستمر أسبوعاً».
ودخلت قيادة ماي للبلاد في أزمة منذ أن أعلنت اتفاق الخروج الذي تم التوصل إليه مع الاتحاد الأوروبي يوم الأربعاء، فاستقال عدة وزراء منهم وزير الخروج من الاتحاد الأوروبي، كما يسعى بعض نواب البرلمان من حزبها للإطاحة بها.
ومن أجل إجراء تصويت على سحب الثقة من ماي يتعين أن يقدم 48 نائباً من حزب المحافظين الذي تنتمي إليه ماي خطابات إلى غراهام برادي رئيس ما يعرف باسم لجنة 1922 التي تمثل النواب الذين لا يشغلون مناصب بالحكومة.
وقالت ماي لـ«سكاي نيوز»، إن «الأيام السبعة المقبلة ستكون حاسمة، فهي تتعلق بمستقبل هذا البلد… لن يُشتت انتباهي عن العمل المهم».
وأضافت أن «تغيير القيادة في هذه المرحلة لن يسهل المفاوضات… ما سيفعله هو أنه سيعني أن هناك مخاطر وسيؤجل فعليا المفاوضات وسيكون هناك خطر تعطيل الخروج من الاتحاد الأوروبي أو إحباطه»، مبينة أنها تعتزم الذهاب إلى بروكسل ولقاء جان كلود يونكر رئيس المفوضية الأوروبية.
وأشارت رئيسة وزراء بريطانيا إلى أنها ستتحدث كذلك مع زعماء آخرين من الاتحاد الأوروبي قبيل قمة الاتحاد المقررة يوم 25 نوفمبر (تشرين الثاني) لبحث الاتفاق.
وذكرت عدة صحف بريطانية أن خمسة وزراء بارزين من مؤيدي خروج بريطانيا من الاتحاد الأوروبي يعملون معاً من أجل الضغط على ماي لتغيير الاتفاق لكن رئيسة الوزراء قالت في صحيفة «صن» اليوم إنها لا ترى بديلاً للخطة المطروحة.
