بداية، نقدم العزاء لأهلنا وأصدقائنا في سلطنة عمان الشقيقة بفقيد الأمة الإسلامية والخليجية والعربية والعالم السلطان قابوس بن سعيد، رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته.
صباح مشرقا يا أهل السلطنة.. نبارك لسلطنة عمان قيادة وشعبا على تولي السلطان هيثم بن طارق بن تيمور آل سعيد مقاليد حكم السلطنة.. بحسب ما أوصى به المغفور له بإذن الله السلطان قابوس بن سعيد، رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته،.. وبالطبع السلطان هيثم بن طارق خير خلف لخير سلف.
السلطان هيثم بن طارق آل سعيد هو السلطان العاشر لسلطنة عمان، تخرج عام 1979م من برنامج جامعة أكسفورد للخدمات الخارجية وتابع دراساته العليا تحت إشراف كلية بيمبرك في أكسفورد.. عاشق للرياضة وبالأخص لكرة القدم التي كانت هوايته المفضلة لذلك ترأس رئاسة الاتحاد العماني لكرة القدم في الفترة 1983 إلى 1986، ثم انتقل من قطاع الرياضة للمجال الديبلوماسي سنة 1986 حيث تولى منصب وكيل وزارة الخارجية للشؤون السياسية على مدار ثماني سنوات (1986 – 1994)، وفي عام 1994 عينه السلطان قابوس، رحمه الله، أمينا عاما لوزارة الخارجية. وقبل توليه للحكم كان وزيرا للتراث والثقافة منذ فبراير 2002 حتى توليه الحكم.
ترأس السلطان هيثم بن طارق العديد من المجالس الإنسانية والاجتماعية والمستقبلية فهو الرئيس الفخري لجمعية رعاية الأطفال المعاقين، كما كان رئيس جمعية الصداقة العمانية اليابانية، وأيضا كان رئيسا للجنة الرئيسية للرؤية المستقبلية «عمان 2040»، كما عمل لسنوات عديدة كمبعوث خاص للسلطان قابوس بن سعيد، رحمه الله.
تاريخ حافل من السياسة والثقافة والرياضية وفي الجانب الاجتماعي والإنساني لمستقبل السلطنة.. هنيئا لكم يا قيادة السلطنة وأهلها بالسلطان هيثم بن طارق سلطانا لعمان، لمواصلة المسيرة نحو مستقبل أكثر إشراقا بإذن الله.
