ولاستخدام ميزة الإملاء، سيحتاج المستخدمون إلى فتح التطبيق ثم جهة الاتصال التي يرغب في إرسال رسالة إليها، قبل إظهار لوحة المفاتيح المستخدمة لكتابة الرسائل والضغط على رمز الميكروفون الأسود في أعلى اليسار في نظام اندرويد، بينما يوجد هذا الرمز في الجزء السفلي الأيسر لمستخدمي iOS.
ومن ثم كل ما على المستخدم فعله هو النقر على رمز الميكروفون لبدء إملاء الرسالة، كما يمكن للمستخدم تعديل الرسالة عن طريق الكتابة قبل إرسالها.
