رئيس المخابرات الوطنية الأمريكية دان كوتس يترك العمل في إدارة ترامب

انضم رئيس المخابرات الوطنية الأمريكية، دان كوتس، إلى سلسلة من المسؤولين البارزين الذين تركوا العمل في إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب، بعد اعتزامه الاستقالة من منصبه إثر خلاف مع ترامب.

وأكد ترامب في تغريدة إن كوتس سيستقيل في منتصف أغسطس/آب وإنه سيرشح جون راتكليف عضو الكونغرس عن تكساس ليخلفه.

وقال ترامب إن راتكليف سيقود و”سيلهم (بناء) عظمة البلاد” التي يعشقها.

ويشرف كوتس بموجب منصبه على 17 وكالة استخباراتية أمريكية مدنية وعسكرية، من بينها وكالة المخابرات المركزية (سي آي أيه).

وقد ظل كوتس على خلاف مع ترامب في عدد من القضايا، ومن أبرزها الموقف من روسيا وكوريا الشمالية.

واصطدم كوتس، الذي يشغل منصبه منذ مارس/آذار 2017، مع ترامب مبكرا بعد توليه مهامه، حيث اتخذ موقفا متشددا إزاء روسيا، مما يتعارض تماما مع الوقف التصالحي الذي اتخذه ترامب إزاء الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين.

وفي يناير/كانون الثاني قال كوتس للكونغرس إنه من غير المرجح أن تتخلى كوريا الشمالية عن سلاحها النووي، مناقضا تصريح ترامب أن بيونغيانغ لم تعد تشكل تهديدا.

كما أنه قال لأعضاء الكونغرس إن إيران ما زالت ملتزمة بالاتفاق النووي مع القوى الدولية الذي وقع عام 2015، والذي انسحب منه ترامب في مايو/أيار 2018.

وفي اليوم التالي لذلك كتب ترامب تغريدة على تويتر وصف فيه مديري المخابرات بأنهم “سلبيين وسذج”، في تقييمهم لمدى الخطر الذي تشكله إيران.

مدافع عن ترامب

ودافع راتكليف، وهو عضو في اللجنة القانونية والاستخباراتية في مجلس النواب، عن ترامب أثناء شهادة المحقق الخاص روبرت مولر يوم الأربعاء عن تحقيقة، الذي استغرق عامين، بشأن تدخل روسيا في الانتخابات الرئاسية عام 2016 والإعاقة المحتملة للعدالة.

واتهم راتكليف أيضا مولر بتجاوز حدود سلطته في تناول تقرير تحقيق مولر الموسع لاحتمال إعاقة ترامب للعدالة بعد قرار المحقق الخاص أنه لم يخلص إلى ما يشير أن ترامب ارتكب جريمة.

ووافق راتكليف على أن ترامب ليس فوق القانون، ولكنه قال إن الرئيس “ليس أسفل القانون ايضا”.

ويشغل راتكليف موقعه في الكونغرس منذ عام 2015.

وقبل أن يصبح عضوا في الكونغرس، كان راتكليف عمدة لبلدة هيث، بالقرب من دالاس، تكساس، وكان نائبا عاما. وتركز سيرته الذاتية في الكونغرس على منصبه كمحقق في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب، وتقول إنه “اعتقل 300 أجنبي غير شرعي في يوم واحد”.

وكان عدد من المسؤولين البارزين تركوا العمل في إدارة الرئيس ترامب، من بينهم وزير الدفاع السابق جيم ماتيس وكبير موظفي البيت الأبيض جون كيلي ونائب مدير مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي أندرو ماكابي والمتحدثة باسم البيت الأبيض سارة ساندرز.
