أعلن الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، “الإثنين” عن إعطائه الضوء الأخضر إلى رئيسة إدارة الخدمات العامة إميلي ميرفي، للمضي قدماً في تسليم السلطة لإدارة الرئيس المنتخب جو بايدن، رغم خططه لمواصلة إقامة دعاوى قانونية.

وقال ترامب في تغريدة “أود أن أشكر إميلي ميرفي في إدارة الخدمات العامة، على التزامها وإخلاصها لبلدنا. تعرضت (إميلي) للمضايقات والتهديد والإساءة، ولا أريد أن أرى ذلك يحدث لها أو لأسرتها أو لموظفيها في إدارة الخدمات العامة”.

وأضاف “قضيتنا تمضي بقوة وسنواصل المعركة، وأنا أؤمن أننا سننتصر، لكن لمصلحة بلادنا، أوصى بأن تقوم إميلي وفريقها بما يلزم عمله فيما يتعلق بالبروتوكولات الأولية، وأبلغت فريقي بأن يقوم بالشيء ذاته”.

وكانت رئيسة إدارة الخدمات العامة الأميركية إميلي ميرفي، قد قالت اليوم الإثنين إن القرار الذي يسمح ببدء الانتقال الرئاسي إلى الديمقراطي جو بايدن هو “قرارها وحدها”، على الرغم من تغريدة من الرئيس دونالد ترامب قال فيها إنه أوصى بهذه الخطوة.

وقالت ميرفي في رسالة “أريدكم أن تسمعوا مني مباشرة، لم أتعرض قط لضغوط فيما يتعلق بجوهر قراري أو توقيته. كان القرار قراري وحدي”.

وأضافت “لم أتعرض لضغوط مباشرة أو غير مباشرة من أي مسؤول في السلطة التنفيذية، بما في ذلك أولئك الذي يعملون في البيت الأبيض، أو إدارة الخدمات العامة لتأخير هذا التحرك أو التسريع به”.

وتعني الخطوة أن بايدن سيحصل الآن على تمويل اتحادي ومكتب رسمي لإدارته الانتقالية، على مدار الشهرين المقبلين. كما تمهد الطريق أمام بايدن ونائبته كاملا هاريس لتلقي إفادات دورية بشأن الأمن القومي والتي يتلقاها ترامب أيضاً.

ورحّب فريق الرئيس الأميركي المنتخب الديمقراطي جو بايدن بقرار الرئيس الجمهوري دونالد ترامب السماح لإدارته، بعد طول تأخير، بالحصول على التمويل الفدرالي اللازم للبدء بعملية نقل السلطة إلى الإدارة الديمقراطية المقبلة، معتبراً هذه الخطوة ضرورية لحصول “انتقال سلس وسلمي للسلطة”. وجاء في بيان صادر عن فريق بايدن أن اجتماعات ستبدأ مع مسؤولين اتحاديين بشأن طريقة تعامل واشنطن مع جائحة فيروس كورونا، إلى جانب بحث قضايا الأمن القومي.

وقال يوهانس أبراهام المسؤول في فريق بايدن في البيان: إنّ “مديرة وكالة الخدمات العامة أكّدت أنّ الرئيس المنتخب جو بايدن ونائبة الرئيس المنتخبة كامالا هاريس هما الفائزان الواضحان في الانتخابات، ممّا يوفّر للإدارة المقبلة الموارد والدعم اللازمين لحصول انتقال سلس وسلمي للسلطة”.
