هجوم “كاسيا” يلحق “الضرر” بمئات الشركات في “القارات الخمس”

قالت شركة تقنية أميركية تعرضت لهجوم إلكتروني مؤخرا إن ما بين 800 و1500 شركة تعمل معها حول العالم تضررت نتيجة عملية القرصنة.
وقال فريد فوكولا، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة “كاسيا” ومقرها فلوريدا، والتي تزود الشركات الصغيرة والمتوسطة حول العالم بأدوات البرمجة إنه كان من الصعب تقدير التأثير الدقيق لهجوم، يوم الجمعة، لأن هؤلاء المتضررين كانوا في الأساس عملاء الشركة، وفقا لما صرح به لوكالة رويترز.
ويقول خبراء إن “كاسيا” تقدم خدمات تكنولوجيا المعلومات لحوالي 40 ألف شركة حول العالم، وفق فرانس برس.
وأدت عملية القرصنة إلى تعطل أنظمة شركات صغيرة ومكاتب وعيادات تدعمها الشركة في القارات الخمس، لكن الاضطراب كان محسوسا بشكل أكبر في السويد، حيث اضطرت المئات من محلات السوبر ماركت إلى الإغلاق لأن آلات النقد بها تعطلت، وكذلك المدارس ورياض الأطفال في نيوزيلندا التي انفصلت عن الإنترنت.
وطالب القراصنة، يوم الاثنين، بمبلغ 70 مليون دولار من عملة البيتكوين مقابل استرجاع البيانات المسروقة. وقالت وكالة رويترز إن القراصنة هم مجموعة مرتبطة بروسيا وتُعد من بين أكثر المبتزين انتشارا في العالم.
وعندما سئل عما إذا كانت شركته ستتحدث إلى القراصنة أو تدفع لهم أموالا، قال الرئيس التنفيذي لـ”كاسيا”: “لا يمكنني التعليق بـ” نعم “أو” لا “أو”ربما”… لا تعليق على أي شيء يتعلق بالتفاوض مع الإرهابيين بأي شكل من الأشكال”.
وقال فوكولا إنه تحدث إلى المسؤولين في البيت الأبيض، ومكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي (أف بي آي)، ووزارة الأمن الداخلي بشأن القرصنة، وأكد أن الهجوم لم يؤثر على شركات كبيرة.
وكان الرئيس الأميركي، جو بايدن، أكد أن الولايات المتحدة لن تتوانى عن الرد إن تبين ضلوع روسيا في هجمات الفدية الإلكترونية المتطورة التي استهدفت الولايات المتحدة مؤخرا.
