السلطات الصحية الأميركية تدرس منح السود واللاتينيين لقاحات كورونا قبل الجميع
يستعد المسؤولون في وزارة الصحة الأميركية لتحديد من سيحصلون على الجرعات الأولى من أي لقاح فعال ضد كورونا يتم إنتاجه، والذي يتوقع طرحه في الأسواق خلال هذا الشتاء.
لكن، رغم توقعات توفير اللقاح قريبا، فإن الأمر سيتطلب عدة أشهر إضافية حتى يستفيد منه كل المواطنين الأميركيين، بحسب تقرير لصحيفة “نيويورك تايمز“.
وقد عمل خبراء من مراكز السيطرة على الأمراض والوقاية منها “CDC”، ولجنة استشارية مكونة من خبراء في مجال الصحة، منذ أبريل الماضي على نظام تصنيف لمستخدمي اللقاح المنتظر.
ووفقا للخطة المبدئية، فإن أي لقاحات متاحة ستمنح أولا لمسؤولي الأمن الطبي الأساسيين ومسؤولي الأمن القومي، ثم العاملين الآخرين الأكثر عرضة للفيروس.
وسيتم منح الأولوية لكبار السن بدلا من الأطفال، والأشخاص الذين يعانون من حالات طبية بدلا من الأصحاء نسبيا.
ويدرس مسؤولو الـ CDC والمستشارون خيارا مثيرا للجدل، وهو إعطاء السود واللاتينيين أولوية الحصول على اللقاح -بصفتهم أكثر الفئات المتضررة من فيروس كورونا المستجد- قبل الفئات السكانية الأخرى داخل الولايات المتحدة.
وأثارت القضية مخاوف تخص العدالة العرقية خلال الجلسات الخاصة والجلسة العلنية الأخيرة، لكن بعض الخبراء الطبيين غير مقتنعين بوجود دليل علمي يدعم هذا الاختيار.
ويتوقع الخبراء وجود تحديات قضائية في طريق هذا القرار، أو قلق من أن يؤدي منح أولوية التطعيم لصالح الأقليات العرقية إلى تآكل ثقة الجمهور في اللقاحات، في وقت يعتبر التطعيم أمرا حاسما لإنهاء الوباء.
المديرة التنفيذية لجمعية مديري التطعيم، كلير هانان، قالت لنيويورك تايمز، “لست متأكدة من الطريقة التي سيرى بها الجمهور إعطاء الأولوية لعرقية دون أخرى، وكيف سيؤثر ذلك على نظرتهم للقاحات الأخرى بصفتها تدبيرا لضمان الصحة العامة”.
وتوقع رئيس اللجنة الاستشارية لممارسات التطعيم، الطبيب خوسيه روميرو، أن يكون هناك فجوة زمنية بين جرعات اللقاح الأولى التي ستخرج من خطوط الإنتاج، وبين إيجاد مخزون كبير يكفي لتطعيم سكان الولايات المتحدة، قد تستمر لشهور.
وقد وضعت لجنة روميرو جدولا زمنيا لتوزيع اللقاح، تبدأ المرحلة الأولى فيه بتوزيع 1.2 مليون جرعة، ثم يليها 110 مليون جرعة أخرى، وقد عرف اللجنة من هم العمال الأساسيين الأكثر احتياجا للقاح، وما هي الحالات الطبية التي تستلزم منح اللقاح، بجانب أنواع البيئات التي تجعل أصحابها عرضة للمرض.
ولفت تقرير “نيويورك تايمز” إلى أن المواطنين السود واللاتينيين داخل الولايات المتحدة قد أصيبوا بالفيروس بمقدار ثلاثة أضعاف مقارنة بالمواطنين البيض، كما وصلت معدلات الوفاة بينهم بسبب المرض إلى الضعفين.
وقد يعود سبب ارتفاع الإصابات بين هؤلاء إلى أن وظائفهم تتطلب العمل خارج المنزل، والاعتماد على المواصلات العامة، بجانب إقامة الكثير منهم في منازل ضيقة تزيد من خطر الإصابة بالفيروس.
كما أن الكثير منهم عرضة للمشاكل الصحية كالسكري، والبدانة، والتي أدت إلى ارتفاع معدل الإسعاف الطبي والوفاة بينهم بعد إصابتهم بالكورونا.
وسجّلت الولايات المتحدة مساء الأربعاء 55 ألف إصابة جديدة بفيروس كورونا المستجدّ خلال 24 ساعة، بحسب بيانات نشرتها جامعة جونز هوبكنز التي تُعتبر مرجعاً في تتبّع الإصابات والوفيات الناجمة عن كوفيد-19.
وأظهرت بيانات جونز هوبكنز أنّ إجمالي عدد المصابين بكوفيد-19 في أميركا الأكثر تضررا بالوباء، ارتفع إلى 3,046,051 شخصاً، توفي منهم لغاية 132,195 شخصاً، بينهم 833 فارقوا الحياة في غضون الساعات الأربع والعشرين الماضية.
